Born September 30, 1969, in Solono County, California, Rick lives in Anchorage with his daughters Ashley and Kaitlyn.
Rick began working for United Parcel Service in 1991 as a part-timer, and then joined Teamsters Local 959 in 1994 when he began working in a full-time capacity.
In 1997, Rick walked the UPS picket line for three weeks with his fellow Teamsters, fighting for a national contract that ultimately provided thousands of more full-time jobs for Teamster members around the nation.
Since 2003, Rick has represented his fellow workers at UPS as the lead shop steward. During that time, Rick has represented his fellow teamsters in Center Level hearings and state grievance panels, in addition to participating on the panel itself.
Rick graduated from Bartlett High School in 1987. He attended BYU-HC in 1987 and 1988, and the University of Alaska, Anchorage, in 1988 through 1991. Rick studied political science and labor law.
