Job Details Job Summary: The Automation Fire Alarm Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of the fire alarm systems within the Anchorage School District facilities. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of four years experience within the past six years in the field of electronics with emphasis on fire alarm, DDC, and security system repair and maintenance; must obtain an Alaska class B commercial driver's license with a general knowledge test endorsement within six months of hire; must possess an Alaska level IB or higher fire system work permit and current NICET level II maintenance certification. Essential Job Functions: Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair all types of electronic systems; perform maintenance and repair of alarm, security and other electronic systems such as NAPCO and Infographics; perform maintenance and repair of commercial fire alarm systems and associated equipment such as pull stations, smoke detectors, fixed and rate of rise heat detectors, fire door closure and sprinkler riser flow devices; troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various brands of commercial and industrial security systems and components; work from plans, prints, specifications and established maintenance procedures completing estimates, electronic repairs, and installations of electronic equipment as required.
